Ivrit BaBayit

Welcome to Ivrit BaBayit, our new at home Hebrew Component for Jewish learning at Beth David Reform Congregation.  Ivrit BaBayit translates directly to Hebrew at Home.

Recognizing that family's schedules are often different than those of previous generations, as well as knowing that coming for additional learning time at the end of the secular school day is not a successful model for all of our students, we are excited to try this model of bringing an online learning option to families.  We know that there is great benefit to having students here in person, which is why this remains an option for all 3rd through 6th grade students during the week--as well as the expectation for all students on Sundays. And we are pleased to offer this alternative, as well.

Ivrit Babayit is available this school year (2022-2023) for all 3rd through 6th grade students.  Each student will be assigned a teacher, who will work with that student either one on one or in a small group, once a week for 30 minutes.  Exact arrangements (how groups are divided and how many tutors are available) will depend on the age and number of students who sign up for this option.

The family and the individual teacher will pick the time that they will meet each week that there is mid-week Religious School.  (If we are closed on a Tuesday, there is no Ivrit Babayit on any day of that week.)  The teachers will coordinate with the Sunday teachers to make sure that the students stay on track with their classmates who are here for in person Hebrew.
